Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care is pleased to announce a generous gift toward the Our House campaign to build the first hospice residence in Chautauqua County. Lake Shore Savings has made a three year pledge totaling $75,000 toward the project.
The hospice residence will be named The Star Hospice House in honor of the generosity of Stanley and Elizabeth Star, long-time residents of Chautauqua County. It will provide over 200 individuals who lack a caregiver, have complex medical conditions or can’t remain at home with a peaceful, dignified resting place in their final days.

The Our House Campaign has raised over $2.6 million. Due to pandemic-related cost increases associated with the construction, the campaign is being extended through the summer. The campaign is being guided by Bert & Mary Rappole, Campaign Co-chairs, who have a long and deep commitment to CHPC’s mission.

The residence will be located adjacent to the CHPC administrative offices on Fairmount Ave. in Lakewood. It is expected to be operational in late 2021.
