Remembering Trixie

We are sad to announce that Trixie, the first volunteer in the Chautauqua Hospice Pet Therapy Program, unfortunately died earlier this year. The former volunteer of the year in 2016, Trixie provided comfort and therapy for our patients from 2013 to 2021.

Trixie’s contributions to the Pet Therapy Program will never be forgotten. We are honored to display a plaque in her memory in the lobby of our main offices.

Shauna Anderson, CHPC President & CEO, Bobbie Thompson, Pet Program Coordinator, and Connie Brown & Nick Baader, Trixie’s owners, stand with the new plaque dedicated to Trixie.

We are always looking for more pets and pet owners that may be willing to volunteer for our pet therapy program. If you think your pet would be good candidate, give us a call at 716-338-0033 or fill out a form on our volunteer page HERE.
