Office Coordinator

Pay: $16.00 – $25.00 per hour

Location: CHPC’s Lakewood Office

Job Types: Full-time or Part-time

Language Preference and Pay Differential
Spanish-English bilingual skills are preferred. Candidates who are able to provide support in both English and Spanish may be eligible for an additional bilingual pay differential, based on demonstrated proficiency and role needs.

I. Position Summary

Perform a diverse array of financial and office responsibilities.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist in completing insurance verifications;

2. Perform and maintain insurance credentialing;

3. Assist with accounts payable;

4. Organize and update contracts and contract list;

5. Assist Vice President of Community Engagement with various projects:

a. Donation entry and acknowledgement

b. Maintenance of donor database

c. Assist with donation appeal communications

d. Marketing responsibilities that could include social media, website, advertising

6. Answer the CHPC phone, and direct calls to appropriate person/staff;

7. Process patient death notifications to community partners

8. Maintain patient charts per regulations and procedures;

9. Maintain certification, recertification, and physician orders in compliance with regulations;

10. Order office supplies

11. File insurance explanation of benefits;

12. Clean office

13. Support and maintain regulatory compliance;

14. Maintain timely and appropriate records/documents per Hospice policies and procedures;

15. Maintain compliance with all relevant laws and regulations;

16. Maintain/enhance professional skills and requirements including education and training;

17. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned;

18. Take initiative as needed;

19. Travel as needed.

III. Formal Education Requirements

Must have at least a high school diploma/G.E.D. An Associate’s Degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Human Resources, Administrative Professional, or a closely related field is preferred.

IV. Formal Experience Requirements

Experience in a healthcare agency or office environment is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

· Valid Driver license and current auto insurance

Demonstrates effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication with colleagues and other stakeholders. Able to take minutes, and report proceedings of meetings accurately and effectively.

VI. Working Conditions and Environmental Hazards

This position works in an office environment with normal levels of office noise.

VII. Physical Requirements

Position requires ability to follow established processes and procedures.

Vice President of Business Operations, Finance Manager, VP of Community Engagement, Intake Coordinator, other office and administrative staff.

External:

Outside telephone callers; Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance companies; patients and families; benefits/human resources consultants; insurance companies; and human resources industry peers.

IX. Supervision and Guidance

There are no direct reports into this position.
