Hospice care remains available whether or not a patient is considering Medical Aid in Dying.
Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD) is a medical option for eligible New York residents with a terminal illness who choose to end their lives peacefully. It is a personal decision that reflects individual values, goals, and definitions of quality of life.
Choosing to learn about or pursue Medical Aid in Dying does not mean you are giving up on care. Hospice care can be provided at the same time and remains focused on comfort, dignity, and quality of life – whatever path you choose.
