Chautauqua Palliative Care
provides an extra layer of support to your loved one’s medical care, at any stage in a serious illness, whatever the diagnosis. Our home-based care is focused on relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of the illness – and works together with your loved one’s curative treatments. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family by keeping your loved one comfortable and out of the hospital.
The John A. and Oscar Johnson Palliative Care Program of Chautauqua County has been made possible through the support of the Johnson Foundation and it is dedicated in memory of John A. and Oscar Johnson.

Chautauqua Hospice Care
provides comprehensive care when your loved one’s goals change from seeking a cure or long-term disease management to improving comfort and quality of life. Hospice care should be a priority if doctors expect your loved one has six months or less to live. This specialized care includes treatments and therapies to relieve physical and emotional pain, assistance with personal care, helping your loved one fulfill their wishes, as well as all prescriptions and medical equipment related to caring for the terminal illness. Hospice care is typically covered in full by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance.
