Hospice care in Chautauqua County was founded by volunteers and they remain an important part of our care team to this day. Trained volunteers provide valuable assistance, support and companionship in our hospice care program. Our volunteers are people of all ages and backgrounds who share an extraordinary capacity to empathize with and attend to the needs of others. Palliative care is comfort care intended to keep patients comfortable, in control and out of the hospital. Unlike hospice care, palliative care is appropriate for individuals who are pursuing curative treatment.
