Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking a compassionate per diem Massage Therapist to provide comfort-focused massage therapy to hospice patients in Chautauqua County. Visits are scheduled as needed and provided only with hospice authorization and the patient’s plan of care.

Rate: $50 for a 30 minute massage, $70 for one hour massage and mileage to and from patient’s home ($0.67 /mile)

What you’ll do

• Provide massage therapy for hospice patients, following the patient’s plan of care and physician/hospice direction
• Coordinate visit timing and needs with the Hospice Nurse Case Manager
• Document each visit with the required progress note and related paperwork
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
• Communicate promptly with hospice staff if there are immediate concerns about a patient

Requirements

• New York State Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in good standing
• Professional liability insurance maintained during the contract term
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within Chautauqua County
• Comfortable working with patients who have serious illness and with family caregivers
• Ability to complete required health clearances (TB screening and proof of immunity consistent with the agreement)

Schedule

• Per diem / as needed based on patient requests and care team scheduling

Notes

• Services are provided under hospice authorization. Patients/families are not billed directly by the therapist for services covered in the hospice plan of care.
